How the league is laid out

Worth thirty seconds even if you already know your team. The structure explains why certain jerseys are rarer than others — and why a division rival's jersey looks nothing like yours.

The league splits into two conferences. Fifteen clubs in the East, fifteen in the West. The split matters to a buyer for a fairly mundane reason: it decides which clubs play each other often, which decides which rivalries actually have heat, which decides whose jersey feels like a statement when you wear it.

Each conference splits into three divisions. Atlantic, Central and Southeast in the East; Northwest, Pacific and Southwest in the West. Division rivals meet more than anyone else, and that is where the sharpest grudges live.

The designs do not follow the structure. Two clubs in the same division can look nothing alike — different palettes, different typefaces, drawing on different eras. The structure tells you who plays whom, not what a jersey looks like.

Some clubs carry more range than others. That is why twelve have a dossier page and eighteen do not. It is about how much there is to say, not about significance.

How to read these cards

Every club below works the same way. The labels are the only thing that changes.

A card with a Dossier label has a page underneath it. Those twelve carry the club's founding year, arena, championship record and retired numbers, plus the shelf broken down by edition and by season. If you want to understand a club before you buy its jersey, start with those.

A card without the label goes straight to the collection. That is not a lesser route — it is just a shorter one. Every one of the thirty clubs links to live stock either way.

Division groupings tell you where a club sits, not what it looks like. Two clubs in the same division can have completely different palettes and typefaces, because each one draws on its own history. Use the grouping to navigate, not to predict.

If you only care about one club, skip the structure. Search this page, or go straight to the collection list. The organisation here is for people who are still deciding.

03

Jump to a region

Every division has its own Level 2 page — five clubs, their dossiers, and the names we stock for that region. The two conferences below list the same thirty teams in one place.

04

Eastern Conference

The Eastern Conference runs from the Atlantic seaboard through the Central time zone down to Florida. Fifteen clubs in three divisions, and a playoff path that has historically been decided by which team can defend a half-court set better than the other.

05

Western Conference

The Western Conference covers everything from the Mountain time zone to the Pacific coast. Fifteen clubs in three divisions, and for most of the last two decades the deeper side of the league — the one where a play-in spot can come down to the last week of the season.

Common questions

Can I buy a jersey for a team with no dossier page?
Yes. Every one of the thirty franchises links to a live collection. The twelve dossier pages exist because those clubs carry the widest range — not because the rest are unavailable.
Why do some team jerseys look so different year to year?
Because most clubs run four editions a season and redesign one of them annually. The primary and white looks stay stable; the alternate and the city design change. If you are after a specific year's design, a team dossier breaks the shelf down by season.
What are the four editions?
The primary colourway, the white home look, the alternate, and the annually redesigned city special. Two throwback lanes — Classic and Hardwood Classics — cover the older designs. The hub explains each one.
Do you carry the same range for every club?
No. Range follows demand, and demand is not evenly spread. The clubs with dossier pages are the ones where the shelf is wide enough to be worth breaking down in detail.
Why are some clubs grouped the way they are?
That is the league's own structure, not ours. Divisions group clubs by geography, mostly — and they determine which teams meet most often, which is where the real rivalries come from.
